Q) Why are my quote marks straight up instead of curly?
A) Because you do not have smart quotes selected for your quote marks.
To turn on smart quotes, follow these steps:
- On the Tools menu, click AutoCorrect, and then select the AutoFormat As You Type tab.
- Under Replace As You Type, click to select the Straight Quotes With Smart Quotes check box, and then click OK.
- On the Edit menu, click Replace.
- In the Find What box, type a quotation mark.
- In the Replace With box, type a quotation mark.
- Click the Replace All button.
