RE: Computer Logons
An important part of any security system is control of logon codes and passwords. We require all users of the Windows, LionsLink and Banner computer systems to enter both a logon code and password.
You will be provided a logon code and password. After ninety days, the computer will require you to change your password. Your new password must be a minimum of 8 characters and contain a mixture of uppercase letters, lowercase letters and numbers. The computer will prompt you if your password does not meet the requirements. Please be sure to memorize your new password. The system does not allow anyone to see the password you have chosen.
Please be reminded that you are personally responsible for all accesses to University of Arkansas - Fort Smith's computer system made through any personal computer signed on with your logon code. In the Banner system, Operator IDs are stored in transaction records so that these accesses may be traced. Therefore, do not allow anyone other than yourself to operate a personal computer logged on to the system with your logon code. In order to prevent unauthorized access under your security logon, you must sign off (exit) before leaving a personal computer. Your logon code should be kept in a secure location or memorized and shredded.
