Requests may be phoned in to 788-7460, emailed to helpdesk@uafortsmith.edu or filled out on the Problem Request form. When a user calls the Help Desk, if the line is busy or we are not able to take the call, the call will be transferred to the voice mail system. Please leave your name, the nature of the problem, and the userid of the machine if it is a PC related call.

When possible the Help Desk will provide instructions to the user to resolve the situation at the time of the call. The Help Desk will provide additional assistance to the user providing timely information and assignment to ACS, Programming or Telecommunication when necessary.

Please provide the following information when calling in a description of a problem:

  • Have you turned the computer off and back on?
  • Have you checked all cables including the network cable to make sure they are plugged in?
  • Is the power light on each piece of equipment shining green?
  • Is this the first time you have had this problem or has it been a recurring problem?
  • Description of the problem: Be sure to include any error messages that you received. It is a good idea to write these down as you may not be able to recall what it actually said.
